Turtal is booking software operated by Shark Byte LLC ("Turtal," "we," "us"). Independent stylists use Turtal to run their booking pages; their clients use it to book appointments. This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it, with particular attention to mobile phone numbers and text messages.

Information we collect

When a client books an appointment, we collect the client's name and mobile phone number, provided by the client to schedule and confirm their appointment with their chosen stylist. Stylists provide their own business and account information to operate their booking page.

How we use mobile phone numbers

A client's mobile number is used only to:

send a one-time verification code to confirm the number,
send a booking confirmation for an appointment the client made, and
send appointment reminders for that client's own appointments.

These are transactional, customer-care messages tied to a specific appointment. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.

We do not sell or share your mobile information. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile numbers are shared only with our messaging provider (SignalWire) solely to deliver the appointment-related messages above, and with the stylist you booked with.

How consent is obtained

A client provides their mobile number on a stylist's public booking page to verify their identity and complete a booking. At the point the number is entered, the booking page displays a consent notice stating that, by providing their number, the client agrees to receive appointment-related text messages (verification code, confirmation, and reminders) from the stylist via Turtal, that message and data rates may apply, that message frequency varies, and that they may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Submitting the number is the opt-in action. Consent is specific to that client and their booking, and is not a condition of any purchase.

Opt-out

A client may reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, and HELP for assistance. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Data retention & security

We retain client contact information for as long as needed to provide the booking service to the stylist, and protect it with reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.
